The Breakup Bible by Melissa Kantor

Jennifer Lewis always though Max Brown was the perfect guy until he broke up with her using the line "it would be better if we were just friends." Jenn is devastated when Max breaks up with her. Her mom and her mom's book club don't help either. All those divorcees who hate men. Although Jenn's mother doesn't hate men because Jenn's father divorced her mother because he actually turned out to be gay.

Jenn is having trouble imagining how she is ever going to get over Max, or how she is going to get out of her bed each morning. Jenn will have to see Max at the meetings for The Hillsdale High Spectator. The Breakup Bible that Jenn's grandmother isn't helping so far either. The Breakup Bible claims to be able to make Jenn the "happiest dumpee on the block" if she follows the "commandments." Jenn is sure that her and Max aren't over and this breakup was just a mistake.

Will The Breakup Bible actually help? Well, Jenn will just have to figure that out, unless she throws out the book before she is actually the "happiest dumpee on the block," and if you want to know how Jenn makes out you won't throw your Breakup Bible in the trash before you get to the true story of it.

Great Book. First of all I love the cover, mostly because it looks worn and i don't know I just think it's kind of eye catching with the bright pink and gold. When I looked at it the one time I thought "Is this ripped?" but no, it wasn't actually ripped. I know laugh at me because I was fooled by a fake scratch on a book. But as you all know don't judge a book by it's cover.

I liked the basic idea of the story, too. You know usually stories are about the girls finding love and it was nice to read about a girl losing love and how she dealt with the trauma and humiliation of being dumped by a hot popular senior. It kind of showed what girls are feeling after they get dumped by a guy that they thought they loved, without the girls pretending to be okay when they weren't. I highly recommend this book. It's a great read.
